－「MACKINTOSH」の「HUMBIE」シリーズならではの魅力は、どのようなところに感じますか？

このゆるっとした感じが良いですよね。
実は私も「MACKINTOSH」のコートを持っているんですが、着た時の上質感や、横から見た時のコケティッシュなAラインシルエットは唯一無二だと思います。
サイズ感が絶妙で、すごくオーバーなわけでもないけど、フィットし過ぎてもいない。女性らしさがありながらも、マニッシュにも着ることもできるから、スタイルを問わないところが好きです。


－今回の撮影で着用した中で、特に印象に残っているコートはありますか？

個人的に好きだなと思ったのは、「MACKINTOSH」らしいネイビーの「HUMBIE」コートでした。インナーに合わせたグリーンの鮮やかな色も素敵でしたし、足元をカジュアルにして全体的に軽やかさを感じるバランスがとても気に入りました。


－丁寧に作られている服のディテールや作りの良さに惹かれた体験はありますか？

父が建築の仕事をしていて、子どもの頃によく家具屋さんへ連れて行ってもらったんです。父は素材そのものを手で触ったり、トントンと叩いたりしながら確認をしていて、それをよく真似してました。その影響もあって、自分自身の洋服選びでも見た目だけではなく、生地や実際に触れた時の感覚を大切にしているところがあるかもしれません。
昔、すごく気に入っていたメリノウールの肌着があって、何着も同じものを揃えて愛用していた時に、人から「見えないのに、そここだわる？」と言われたことがあって。
そこで初めて、自分は肌に触れる素材やシンプルなものにこそ、こだわりがあると気がつきました。 今回の「MACKINTOSH」も、袖を通すと丁寧に作られているのが感じられてとても心惹かれました。


－What do you find particularly appealing about “MACKINTOSH” HUMBIE series?

I really like this relaxed feel.
Actually, I own a “MACKINTOSH” coat myself, and I think the sense of quality you feel when wearing it, as well as the coquettish A-line silhouette when viewed from the side, are truly one of a kind.
The sizing is also great. It’s not overly oversized, but it’s not too fitted either. I like how it has a feminine quality while also being able to be worn in a masculine way, making it suitable for any style.


－Among the coats you wore for this shoot, was there one that particularly left an impression on you?

The one I personally liked was the navy HUMBIE coat, which felt very characteristic of “MACKINTOSH”. I also loved the vivid green color of the inner layer, and I really liked the overall balance, which felt light and effortless with the casual footwear.


－Have you ever had an experience where you were drawn to the details or quality of craftsmanship in carefully made clothing?

My father works in architecture, and when I was a child, he often took me to furniture stores. He would actually touch the materials with his hands or tap on them to check their quality, and I often imitated him.
Perhaps because of his influence, when choosing clothes for myself, I tend to value not only how they look, but also the fabric and how they actually feel to the touch.
There was a time when I had a merino wool undergarment that I really loved, and I bought several of the same one and wore them regularly. Someone once said to me, “Why are you so particular about something that no one can even see?”
That was when I first realized that I was especially particular about materials that touch my skin and about simple things.
With the “MACKINTOSH” pieces I wore this time as well, I could really feel how carefully they had been made when I put them on, and I was very drawn to that.
