風を受けて揺れるコートの裾、歩みに沿って生まれるしなやかなシルエット。移ろう空模様に寄り添う服づくりを原点に、「TRADITIONAL WEATHERWEAR」は機能と美しさが調和する1着を生み出す。上質で軽やかなツイード素材のアウター描く端正なフォルムと繊細なディテールが、佐藤栞里のしなやかな存在感と重なり、何気ない1日に凛とした表情をもたらす。

—秋冬に取り入れたい着こなしや、惹かれるシルエットはありますか？

上半身はコンパクトに、ボトムはボリュームを出したメリハリのある着こなしも好きですが、冬は今回の撮影でも着たような、全身をボーイッシュなシルエットでまとめることが多いです。01で着たヒートツイードのコート「MALTON」のようなAラインのシルエットにも惹かれます。
秋冬は、チェックやレオパードといった柄、赤などの印象的な色にも挑戦しやすい季節。普段は選ばない柄や色を、今年も積極的に取り入れたいです。

—年齢を重ねる中で、ファッションとの向き合い方に変化はありましたか？

デニムやTシャツ、スニーカー、キャップなど、好きなものは幼い頃からあまり変わっていません。それは嬉しいことである一方で、30代になった頃は「このままの格好でいいのかな」、「もっと大人っぽい服を着た方がいいのかな」と悩んだ時期もありました。
でも、今回の「TRADITIONAL WEATHERWEAR」のヒートツイードのような、少し上質なものを選んだり、自分へのご褒美として買ったアクセサリーを合わせたりすると、同じアイテムでも印象を変えられると気づいたんです。素材や着こなしに変化を加えることで、昔から好きなものを、これからも肯定的に着続けていきたいと思えるようになりました。

—佐藤さんが、自分らしくいられるのはどのような装いですか？

ブラウスにジャケット、ヒールを合わせた装いでは、自然と背筋が伸びて、凛とした自分でいようという気持ちになります。それも楽しいのですが、「この服を着るのが嬉しい」、「もっと自由に動いてみたい」と心から思えるのは、やはりトラッドで、少しボーイッシュなシルエットの服やデニムをまとった時です。
今回の撮影のような上質なアウターに、差し色を加えたり、スカーフを自由に巻いたり、少し意外性のあるアイテムを取り入れたり。自分らしいベースに遊び心をひとさじ加えた装いが、一番気持ちを弾ませてくれます。

—Are there any styles you’d like to incorporate this fall and winter, or any silhouettes that appeal to you?

I love looks that create a sense of balance, with a compact top and voluminous bottoms, but in winter, I often go for a boyish silhouette from head to toe, like the one I’m wearing for this shoot. I’m also drawn to an A-line silhouette like the ‘MALTON’ heat tweed coat I wore in 01.
Fall and winter are the perfect seasons for experimenting with patterns like checks and leopard print, as well as statement colors like red. This year, I’d like to embrace patterns and colors that I wouldn’t normally choose.

—As you’ve gotten older, has your approach to fashion changed?

The things I’m into—denim, T-shirts, sneakers, and caps—haven’t changed much since I was a child. That’s something I’m happy about, but when I turned 30, there was a time when I wondered, “Is it okay to keep dressing this way?” or “Should I be wearing more grown-up clothes?”.
But I realized I could change how the same pieces feel by choosing slightly more refined materials like the heat tweed from “TRADITIONAL WEATHERWEAR” featured in this shoot, or by pairing them with accessories I’d bought as a treat for myself. By playing with fabrics and the way I style them, I’ve come to feel that I can continue to wear the things I’ve always been fond of with confidence.

—What kind of clothes make you feel most like yourself?

When I wear a blouse with a jacket and heels, I naturally stand a little taller, and it makes me want to carry myself with a certain poise. I enjoy that too, but when I truly feel, “I’m so happy to be wearing this” or “I want to move more freely”, it’s when I’m wearing a traditional pieces with a slightly boyish silhouette or denim.
Then I might add a pop of color, like I did this time, playfully tie a scarf, or introduce an unexpected piece to pair with high-quality outerwear like the pieces I wore for this shoot. Outfits that add a touch of playfulness to my signature style are the ones that make me feel the most excited.
