一杯のコーヒーを飲む時間がスペシャルに。上質な喫茶空間〈茶亭 羽當〉へ。／Alice’s TOKYO Walk vol.41

「あれ？こんなお店あったっけ？」馴染みのエリアから少し足を伸ばせば、そこには私の知らないTOKYOがたくさん。そんなまだ見ぬTOKYOとの出会いを求めて、お散歩へ出かけました。

“Oh...I never knew there was a place like this！”
If I go a little farther from my favorite areas, there is so much more TOKYO that I haven’t yet found. So, I go out in search of new discoveries.

宮益坂の脇道にある喫茶店〈茶亭 羽當〉へやってきました。ビルとビルの間にあって、知らないと見過ごしてしまいそうな控えめな入り口。おじゃましま〜す。

I visited café “Satei Hato” on a small side street off of Miyamasuzaka. It is located between two buildings, so you might easily miss it if you don’t know where it is.

中へ入ると、とっても静か。小さめのクラシック音楽と、バリスタさんがコーヒーを淹れる音がなんとも心地よい…。うっかり渋谷の真ん中にいることを忘れてしまいます。

The inside is very quiet. Classical music plays while you are comforted by the sounds of the baristas brewing coffee. You might almost forget the fact you are in the middle of Shibuya.

実はここ、世界中のコーヒー通の間でとっても有名。あの〈ブルーボトルコーヒー〉の創業者ジェームス・フリーマン氏も「日本でもっとも好きなカフェ」と公言していて、ここをめがけて海外から脚を運ぶ人も多いんですよ。

Actually, the café is very famous among coffee lovers all over the world, including Mr.James Freeman, founder of “Blue Bottle Coffee”, who said : “Satei Hato is the best café in Japan.”. Many people come from different countries just to visit here.

コーヒーを注文すると、バリスタさんがゆっくりゆっくりネルドリップしてくれます。自分のためだけにコーヒーが淹れられていく時間って大好き。なんだろう、なんかこう、エロスを感じるんです。

When you order a cup of coffee, a barista brews your coffee slowly and carefully. I love it when someone makes a cup of coffee just for me. I think it feels kind of intimate.

お店の棚には世界中から集めたティーウエアがずらり。400客近くあるカップの中から、あなたの雰囲気に合ったカップをバリスタがチョイスしてくれます。

Many teacups from all over the world are lined up on the shelf behind the counter. The barista chooses the best one for you from over 400 cups.

ブラジル豆をベースにしたコーヒー「羽當オリジナルブレンド」と、「シナモンのシファンケーキ」。お店で焼く自家製シファンケーキは他にも紅茶、抹茶、バナナ、オレンジなど色んなフレーバーを用意。

This is “Hato’s original blend”, made with Brazilian beans as the base, and on the side is a piece of cinnamon chiffon cake. They have more flavors like tea, matcha, banana, orange and so on.

アンティークの円卓には、四季折々のお花や緑が飾られています。一杯のコーヒーを味わうためだけに、こんなスペシャルな空間があることに感謝！

They display seasonal flowers and plants on their antique tables. I feel thankful for the fact that I can enjoy a cup of coffee in such a special place.
